Online-CEUs is "a premier source of online information and continuing education for professionals in the fields of speech pathology..." Dr. Yaruss's current courses include:

(bullet) Practical Counseling Skills for Speech-Language Pathologists (.5 CEUs) provides strategies for listening and responding to clients' needs, regardless of the nature of their communication disorder. Includes practice sessions and scenarios so clinicians will know what to say and how to say it to help clients achieve their greatest success.

(bullet) Clinical Measurement of Stuttering Behaviors: A Practical Course (.3 CEUs) teaches clinicians to complete reliable, valid counts of speech disfluencies. Includes practice sessions with streaming audio and tips for ensuring accurate stuttering counts.

(bullet) Stuttering Therapy: Using Problem-Solving Strategies to Facilitate Generalization and Maintenance (.5 CEUs) teaches clinicians advanced problem-solving skills to help clients who stutter overcome common roadblocks such as anxiety and low motivation. (bullet) NEW! Young Children Who Stutter: Helping Parents Help their Children (.5 CEUs) helps speech-language pathologists address the concerns often experienced by parents of young children who stutter. Includes step-by-step suggestions to reduce parents' fears and answers to commonly asked questions. (Based on the popular booklet for parents written for the National Stuttering Association by J. Scott Yaruss and Nina Reeves.) 

(bullet) NEW! Evaluating and Treating Adolescents and Adults Who Stutter (.5 CEUs) helps speech-language pathologists understand the experience of adolescents and adults who stutter. Includes detailed guidance about how to employ advanced treatment techniques aimed at helping speakers overcome the burden of stuttering, through understanding and acceptance of stuttering, desensitization to stuttering, and increased use of techniques for enhancing fluency.


MEDS-PDN "offers continuing education credit seminars to a broad spectrum of professionals" including SLPs. Over the past several years, Dr. Yaruss has presented numerous in-person seminars for MEDS-PDN around the country. More recently, the company has focused on webinars instead of live programs.

Webinars are offered on a rotating schedule, which can be viewed on their website www.MEDS-PDN.com (search for "Yaruss"). Dr. Yaruss has just prepared 4 new webinars for MEDS-PDN based on his popular live "Practical Treatment Strategies" Series. These webinars address evaluation and treatment strategies for preschool and school-age children.

(bullet) Practical Treatment Strategies for Preschool Children Who Stutter (.2 CEUs in each of 2 programs). Part I addresses the evaluation and diagnosis of preschool-age children who stutter, as well as the development of appropriate treatment recommendations. Part II continues with specific suggestions about appropriate treatment goals and procedures to help preschool children overcome early stuttering.

(bullet) Practical Treatment Strategies for School-Age Children Who Stutter (.2 CEUs in each of 2 programs). Part I addresses the evaluation and diagnosis of school-age children who stutter. Part I also reviews concrete strategies for helping school-age children improve their speech fluency. Part II continues with specific suggestions about helping school-age children improve their overall communication abilities, as well as guidance about how to help those in the child's environment (parents, teachers, peers) come to terms with and accept the child's stuttering.

(bullet) Overall Assessment of the Speaker's Experience of Stuttering (OASES): Documenting Multiple Outcomes of Stuttering Treatment (.2 CEUs, recorded program) describes the development of the OASES measurement instrument and provides detailed training about the use and interpretation of the tool in clinical settings.

(bullet) What Every SLP Should Know About Stuttering (.2 CEUs, recorded program) provides key information that all SLPs need in order to effectively evaluate and treat individuals who stutter across the lifespan.


LinguiSystems has provided "innovative, effective, affordable, and therapeutically sound materials for speech-language pathologists" since 1977. LinguiSystems now offers several FREE Continuing Education programs on their website, including:
